The deer are constant residents but the elk wander the area and pass through about every 1 - 2 months

These Elk photos were taken one Spring when the whole herd of about 120 head were here.
Usually they are split into several smaller groups of 20 - 80.

These Golden Eagles as well as Redtail Hawks, Falcons and many more birds are common sights.
Among the huntable birds are turkey and grouse.

Fishing!

I cannot say enough about the fishing in this area and if you are a fly fisherman this is heaven!

The area fishing is awesome.  My favorite stream (especially on dry flies) is about a 30 minute drive and though it does not contain trophy size fish (my largest catch being a 16" brown & most run 6" - 12") it is certainly diverse.  I have caught rainbows, browns, brookies, cutthroat and cut-bows all within a 4 hour period on this stream.  If you are in to more trophy fishing then you will find lots of "Blue Ribbon" waters well within an hours drive including the Arkansas and the South Platte rivers as well as MANY reservoirs and small streams.
