Location
This home is located high in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. The approximately 3000 square foot (including the unfinished basement) home is located on a property which is 9,860 feet above sea level. This means that the view is nothing short of spectacular. The view from the top of the property takes in thousands of square miles, from the Sangre de Cristos mountain range on the south along the Great Divide from the Southwest to the Northwest and almost to Denver to the North and, Pikes Peak on the East is the only reason you cannot see Kansas when looking in that direction.

The closest visible human neighbor is a mile away. There are hundreds of acres to roam in. The only "Peeping-Toms" around are the wild turkeys. Deer, Elk and Bear are common sights from the front porch not to mention the smaller critters such as: coyotes, bobcat, eagles, hawks, falcon and various others too numerous to mention including squirrels, chipmunks and cottontail rabbits that will eat right out of your hand. Where else could you see both the top of an eagle's back one minute and it’s belly the next while it is soaring the sky hunting?
What is Impressive to YOU?
· Inside the house the walls are covered in native Aspen with a contrasting Walnut trim. The floors are Maple and the balusters and railings are Oak.
· A Tile & Oak fireplace with it’s hand carved 8 foot Oak mantel in the great room with it’s 20 foot high vaulted ceiling is a real show place -- especially at Christmas.
· To help maintain humidity in the house as well as for a peaceful relaxing background sound there is an indoor fountain that looks like the area’s natural rock.
· For ease of maintenance and upkeep the house has vinyl siding and windows plus steel snow roof.
· If you are an avid cook the 300 square foot kitchen with the 60 square foot walk-in pantry and 4 ft. by 8 ft. Maple topped island might catch your attention.
· Or, perhaps the almost 400 square foot Loft Bedroom (overlooking the 400 square foot Great Room) with an Atrium door to the outside second story Redwood deck might be your choice.
· Speaking of Redwood decks there are a total of about 1,035 sq. ft. of it around the house on two levels not to mention the stairways and boardwalks winding up the 40 ft. high cliff at the back of the house going up to the 900 sq. ft. garage with it’s two 7’ high garage doors and one 12’ high door.
· Perhaps you would just enjoy peaceful walks to explore the 20 acres that the house sits in the middle of or using the 24 X 24 foot workshop.
· Or, perhaps, the freedom to shoot & hunt from your front porch or just yell & scream to let off some steam occasionally and no one can tell you you can't do it with the possible exception of getting yelled at by the chipmunks.
· Along with all this you also have a night sky undimmed by city lights so you can see the milky way and the seasonal shooting stars.
· And if you get lonesome the town of Cripple Creek is only a mile away and has limited stakes gambling while at the end of the private drive where it meets the County Road there is a gas station, hardware store, grocery store, liquor store and by the end of the year there will be a medical facility.
